BMR Basal Metabolic Rate — The rate at which the body at rest uses energy (calories) to maintain vital functions, such as breathing. You can configure your BMR using the MIFFLIN ST JEOR Equation. Female BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) - 161. *Of four equations tested, the Mifflin-St Jeor equation is more likely to estimate BMR to within 10% of that measured. Please note that this is a general equation and should be used as a ballpark figure.
TDEE Total Daily Energy Expenditure — The number of actual calories used by the body in one 24-hour period for all activities and vital functions. This is your BMR plus whatever energy you expend during exercise and activity. TDEE (or TEE) results in more efficient tool for weight loss and management.
